RNTC offers Media Campaigns for Development and Social Change course

rntc media training michiel bles 23 webRadio Netherlands Training Centre (RNTC) has published its course calendar for 2018. One of the courses that it will be offering is "Media Campaigns for Development and Social Change." The course aims to enable participants to "explore the ingredients of successful development campaigns and learn how to create the right campaign for your target audience" (RNTC website).

 

Below are the expected outcomes upon completion of the course:

1. Mastery of the tricks of the trade and development of convincing media strategies with better reach, whichever platform or medium is chosen;

2. Ability to combine techniques in creativity, learning, persuasion, and audience mapping to communicate message; and

3. Learning about the power of persuasion to attract and hold onto new audiences using proven media strategies.

The course will run for three weeks and has two schedule offerings, April 9 to April 27 and October 22 to November 9. It will be held at the RNTC training centre and studios in Hilversum, Netherlands. The course fee is 3655.00 Euro and the All-in-fee is 5500.00 Euro.

Indonesia tsunamiTsunamis are frequent in Indonesia and more than 35% of them are deadly. The December 26, 2004 tsunami claimed 178,000 lives in the island of Sumatra. In hindsight, the weak tsunami resilience of the people contributed to the terrible catastrophe. Many people were unaware, unprepared, and lacked knowledge about tsunamis. The mass media reported on the December 26 tragic consequences but did not provide substantial information about tsunamis (Morin et al., 2008).
